More big Government.

So San Francisco has successfully banned toys in happy meals. Why? Kids are overweight. Yep, and McDonald's happy meals are the problem.

Wait, wait I know what you are thinking, 6 year olds can't drive to McDonald's. They can't get jobs to to earn the money to buy happy meals so what's going on.

The answer, MORE BIG GOVERNMENT.

Oh no kids are overweight, blame McDonald's. No how about we blame the parents. I remember being little going to McDonald's as a treat and I also remember having to get milk with our meals. Was that forced upon me from the Government. Nope, but my Mom didn't allow us to have pop.

I know what your thinking a parent being responsible, that can't be. But its true. In our house you drank milk or water, you played outside all year round, you didn't play video games till your fingers bled, and you didn't sit in your room and watch tv (in fact you didn't have a tv to watch).

Did this need to be regulated by the Government? Nope. Does it need to be now? Nope.

Here's the thing, parents take kids to. McDonald's because its fast and easy. Do they know the nutrional values before buying happy meals? Most likely. Are parents going to stop going to McDonald's because little Timmy can't get a hotwheel car? No.

I am not a parent but what I do know is there is a two letter word that can be used to stop kids from doing things you don't want them to do. The word is NO. I am pretty sure kids aren't at home jonesing for McDonald's like its crack. And they don't force parents to go there.

Its your life, let people do what they want. The Government is not your Mommy. Nor should they be.

YOU'RE FIRED! F the FIRST AMENDMENT.

Juan Williams analyst for NPR and long time regular guest was fired from the TAXPAYER FUNDED news organization NPR for comments made on Bill O'Reilly, so what did he say:

"Look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."

And how did NPR respond to these comments?

"His remarks on The O'Reilly Factor this past Monday were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR,"

REALLY?!?!?! NPR editorial standards, calling people TEABAGGERS.  LOL!

And here is some more ridiculous statements from NPR.

Newbusters - Double Standards and Newsbusters - Juan Williams

Let me tell you something, I do not agree with Juan Williams often, in fact I rarely agree with his views, but should he be fired for stating his opinion?  Nope.  He feels like many Americans, in fact I will tell you I am terrified to fly because of 9/11, and I have the same reaction.  Just like if I was to be raped, I would be terrified by all men, and it is not a rational fear.  The odds of me being raped again would be slim, but I would always have that thought with me.

Am I a bigot because of this?  Am I insensitive?  No I am scared and I am human.  Just like Juan Williams.  This hypocrisy has to stop.  Political Correctness has gone way to far, we can no longer speak how we feel for fear that we might lose a job, or be considered racist, or a bigot.

I guess the First Amendment only applies to liberals, yet again.

Tale of Two Rallies

This weekend the liberals held their Rally to pull the nation together.  So I decided to compare the two rallies the (ONR and the RHR).

Restoring Honor Rally
Date: August 28, 2010
Mission: The mission of the rally is to recognize our First Amendment rights and honor the service members who fight to protect those freedoms.
Attendance: 500,000+
Paid Attendees: ZERO
Cost of Clean up: ZERO DOLLARS

One Nation Rally
Date: October 2, 2010
Mission:  To bring the nation together, to advance social issues.
Attendance: 100,000 Estimated.
Paid Attendees:  It brought together a variety of left leaning groups fighting for these themes, as well as LGBT rights, comprehensive immigration reform, peace, civil rights, environmental protection, and worker’s rights.
Cost of Clean up: 200,000 Taxpayer dollars

Now that isn't what I care about this is....
The liberals TRASHED the WWII memorial
Conservatives cleaned up their own trash.

A watched pot never boils, but it does cry racism....

The Tea Party is racist, the Tea Party is racist, the Tea Party is racist.  Sick of this yet?  Your not alone.

This week the great minds at Think Progress, Media Matters, New Left Media, and with sponsorship with the NAACP put out a new website called teapartytracker.org it's mission is to...

MONITORS RACISM AND OTHER FORMS OF EXTREMISM WITHIN THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT. WE CALL ON THE TEA PARTY TO REMOVE EXTREMISTS WITHIN THEIR RANKS AND JOIN IN CIVIL DIALOGUE WITH ALL AMERICANS.

The site features a blog, real time news (twitter), and photo gallery.

Here is what bothers me about this, the left is again trying to stir the pot.  Trying to find the racists in a grassroots organization.  The Tea Party does not condone racism and does not encourage racism.  You are grouping a few nuts together to destroy a movement, because of fear.

The left is so concerned with the Tea Party Movement they do not understand that if they just do what the American People want, read the bills, vote with the majority and listen to the people.  They don't need to worry about the Tea Party.

So let's do exactly what the left does, show a few nuts within their movement.

The Crazy Left

Now I could say like the NAACP and Think Progress do that the WHOLE entire leftist movement is CRAZY because of these pictures.  I mean the proof is right here staring you in the face.  And though I do not agree with the actions of the left or there point of view, I also have enough common sense to know that the all of the left is NOT as ignorant as the people in this video gallery.

Every group has extremists, and every group has racists, and morons, but that does not mean the the group as a whole agrees with the individual.  And not every group can separate from what one individual does.

This site www.teapartytracker.org is why racism exists within America, those who cry racism, are usually the ones whom hold racism.

Why is the MSM trying to glorify a terrorist?

As you probably have heard on many of the outlets of the MSM that the NYC attempted car bomber's life unraveled due to the economic recession. they wonder what led this man to terrorism? He had the American dream.

What led this man to terrorism? Islam. The MSM talks about Islam like it is a peaceful religion, when the Koran teaches nothing but hate towards people of a different religion and women.

And to get back to the terrorists life unraveling, first off he had a great job, was married, and bought a house for 273,000.

Stay with me here though okay, this is hard for the MSM to get so, oh who am kidding.

One, the job our attempted bomber had, he quit.

Two, the house our attempted bomber had, he stopped paying on.

Stop glorifying this idiot, he is nothing but scum, he didn't lose his house to Foreclosure he lost his house because he CHOSE to lose his house.

You know I do feel bad for people that legitimately lost their house due to the economic recession, but on the flip side there is people that knew what they were doing, they knew that they could not afford their mortgages and still signed that dotted line. The MSM has to stop telling everyone that everyone was a victim and everyone deserves a house and a car and 3 tv's. Contrary to belief no one owes you anything. And to give sympathy to a terrorist makes me sick.

He chose to try and kill Americans no one forced him to drastically change his life, to forfeit the American dream. No one forces you to do anything, we have the ability to chose the life we wish to lead, how far we go is up to us. The only person stopping you from succeeding is you.

The real question is why do we still call Islam a peaceful religion.

Ronald in chains, RIOT police for the elderly, and of course at some point you've made enough money

On MSNBC Wednesday morning Monica Novotny, interviewed Meme Roth.  Who is Meme Roth?  She is an anti-obesity activist in California.  What were they discussing?  A new law in Santa Clara County that bans the distribution of toys in kids meals at fast food restaurants.  The law claims that these fast food marketers use the toys as a device to lure children in and to coerce them to eat more junk food.

Really?  Kids would be eating vegetables and healthier if Ronald McDonald and his evil clown face didn't hand out toys with happy meals?

Give me break.  And then instead of asking important questions or debating the other side Monica Novotny says: I think this is a big fight that you're taking on because these fast food chains have big endorsement deals with movie companies whenever there's a big film being released. These are big promotions and they've got big financial incentive to keep these. So I wonder if there's not a way to do it so that, I'm afraid you're going to lose the battle and I don't want to lose the battle, if you know what I'm saying.

Yeah your saying your leftist agenda is exactly what we need!  Parents should not be responsible for what they buy for their kids, that should be up to the Government and is the responsible for the people.  Not the other way around.  Are you kidding me?

Shouldn't the parents be responsible with their child's well being. Or hey why is this even an issue, what makes the government or you the police of what people eat. Or kids are obese today, it's not because or public schooling system sucks so much that kids have to play to play or when budget cuts are needed they cut gym. Or better yet, should the parents be telling their kids to go outside and play instead of sitting them in front of the tv? This is a joke and I hope McDonald's and others fight this.

Say no to amnesty

If the Obama administration gets their way they will grant amnesty. On their "pathway to citizenship." Even though 60% of the American people favor immigration reform of that of Arizona's new bill (Rasmussen Reports).

And how would amnesty affect you? 40% to 60% of illegal immigrants do not have a high school diploma and most of them have low paying jobs, and according to The Heritage Foundation illegal immigrants cost $3 to $4 dollars for every dollar they would pay in taxes.

In some cases illegal immigrants would qualify for benefits such as, welfare, food stamps, medicaid and certain tax-credits you don't have to pay a Federal Income Tax to qualify for.

According to FOX news people earning under $15,000 would have paid an estimated $1.27 over five years. The same average for those making $30,000 to $50,000k would be $48. The bill would have cost Americans bringing home $100,000 to $200,000 an average of $365 over five years, or $73 a year.

The costs alone are too much to bear on the American tax payer in an already struggling economy.

Oh the lies the MSM tells

The Christian Science monitor claims that there are only 67,000 Tea Party Members nationwide.

While Newsweek claims some lady threw a coffee party, on a whim and 200,000 people showed.

Let's think about this for a minute and look at some facts.  Let's just go with how many people like each movement on Facebook. (keep in mind also the MSM discussed the "coffee" party and they had 166,000 members on Facebook in days.  While the MSM never gives the Tea Party attention).

COFFEE PARTY - 206,727, 1,627, 41 total members of top three "like" pages on Facebook
=208,401

TEA PARTY -  185,065, 1,065, 67,090 total members of the top three like pages on Facebook
=253,220

But if you go state by state and look at the figures the number for the "coffee" party the numbers drop considerably compared to the Tea Parties.

MICHIGAN COFFEE PARTY 1,627
MICHIGAN TEA PARTY- oh yeah that's right we don't have links to sites on the corporate Facebook page like the "coffee" party.

And if you look at the numerous pictures of the rallies...oh wait there is none.

But I can tell you that 3000+ showed up in Clinton twp. when the tea party express was here and only 44 showed up for the "coffee" party when they held a rally in Troy.  And 1 million Tea Partiers Marched on Washington 9/12.

You be the judge.

.

Around the week in a few short stories

GM PAYS BACK AUTO BAILOUT?
Well not really, GM was able to repay the money by drawing down on a line of credit that it had from TARP!  In other words, GM took funds still available to it through TARP and used those funds to repay the loan it received from the government.  Of course, it now owes $4.7 billion on its line of credit with TARP, but, that doesn't make for good news, so it wasn't reported.

ARIZONA PASSES IMMIGRATION BILL
In a controversial move and fed up with waiting for the federal government to step in and help Arizona passed sweeping legislation.  The measure creates a new state misdemeanor crime of willful failure to complete or carry an alien registration document. It would allow officers to arrest immigrants unable to show documents proving they're legally in the country.

DETROIT POLICE: STRIP CLUB EMPLOYED 14 YEAR OLD
The manager of a Detroit strip club was charged after authorities learned a 14-year-old girl was employed as a topless dancer, making several hundred dollars a night, authorities said Friday.  The 31-year-old manager of the All Star topless bar was arraigned Friday on a charge of child sexually abusive activity. Andrew Hutson was arrested Wednesday night at the club on Eight Mile Road. The girl, whose name was not released because of her age, is believed to have danced at the club several nights each week, making about $350 per night, Police Chief Warren Evans said at a news conference across the street from the establishment. VIRGINA TO TEACH GUN SAFETY IN SCHOOLS
11 YEAR OLD RAPE VICTIM WANTS TO KEEP BABY
Just a few stories, untill next time.

Obama hates gays... Seriously.

Earlier this week A group of Gay Rights Protesters chained themselves to the White House fence.  The small demonstration consisted of 6 military veterans who handcuffed themselves to the fence.  They group was protesting the "don't ask, don't tell policy that Obama promised to repeal months ago.  The don't ask, don't tell policy bans gays from openly serving in the military.

When reporters tried to cover the event police stepped in and declared the park to be closed, backing up reporters and citizens to Lafayette Park.

The closure lasted 15-20 minutes and police changed their minds about "closing" the park and let the reporters and public back in just as they were getting arrested.

No where could I find this on the MSM and I ask, if this was still Bush's Administration would the coverage be different?  I think we all know the answer to this one.

Debbie Does Government Agencies too.

Instead of the S E C (the securities and exchange commission) doing their job, policing the financial system, they were downloading hours of porn on Government issued computers throughout the worst collapse of the economy in 70 years.
The SEC's inspector general conducted 33 probes of employees looking at explicit images in the past five years, according to a memo obtained by The Associated Press.

The memo says 31 of those probes occurred in the 2 1/2 years since the financial system teetered and nearly crashed.

Not only does this violate Government wide ethics rules but it was all done on... You guessed the American taxpayers expense.

The report comes just days after the
S E C charged Goldman Sachs with fraud and days before the Senate tries to overhaul the financial system.

The memo was written by SEC Inspector General David Kotz in response to a request from Republican Sen. Charles Grassley. It summarizes past inspector general probes and reports some shocking findings:

-- A senior attorney at the SEC's Washington headquarters spent up to eight hours a day looking at and downloading pornography. When he ran out of hard drive space, he burned the files to CDs or DVDs, which he kept in boxes around his office. He agreed to resign, an earlier watchdog report said.

-- An accountant was blocked more than 16,000 times in a month from visiting websites classified as "Sex" or "Pornography." Yet he still managed to amass a collection of "very graphic" material on his hard drive by using Google images to bypass the SEC's internal filter, according to an earlier report from the inspector general. The accountant refused to testify in his defense, and received a 14-day suspension.

-- Seventeen of the employees were "at a senior level," earning salaries of up to $222,418.

-- The number of cases jumped from two in 2007 to 16 in 2008. The cracks in the financial system emerged in mid-2007 and spread into full-blown panic by the fall of 2008.

Another Government Agency that fails to protect the markets and the American people.

I'm a socialist

This week former ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis told a young Democratic Socialist group that they should "do everything they can to build their organization and the times we are living in are worse then the Jim Crow era."

She then went on to say "Any of these groups that says, "I'm young, I'm Democratic, and I'm a socialist," is okay with me. You know that's no light thing to do -- to actually say, I'm a socialist."

But wait there's more "They are coming. And they are coming after you. And they are going to be brutal and oppressive. They've already shown it. ... This is not rhetoric or hyperbole -- this is real. ... This tea party so-called movement -- a bowel-movement in my estimation -- and this blatant uncovering and ripping off the mask of racism..."

Here is why this is such a big deal or as Joe Biden would say "a big f**king deal.". One, although ACORN "disbanded" when they were caught on video helping "clients" cover up a prostitution ring. Unfortunately they never actually disbanded and to make matters worse Congress who took away there federal funding months ago just reinstated it.

Two, like I just said they receive federal funding and they received huge amounts of money in Obama's "stimulus" bill. Why should my tax money go to this socialist group?

Three, they covered up or at least tried to cover up voter fraud.

The problem I have is that Obama is very close to this group I mean he practically started his career there. And to top it off the only reason they were included in the stimulus is because Obama had to give them a kickback for helping him get elected.

So our taxpayer money will still go to ACORN and we still will fund liars and the only way to change it is to vote them out in November.

An Inconvenient Dupe

Another country (New Zealand) is now looking into whether or not to show a warning before showing Al Gore's film "An Inconvenient Truth" in schools.

In 2007 a British judge ruled that the movie contained so much false information that it had to be disclosed to students before being shown.

The petition in New Zealand signed by 250 people argues that students should not be exposed to political indoctrination and asks Parliament to insert into the Education Act provisions similar to those in the British act.

In order for the film to be shown [in England], the Government must first amend their Guidance Notes to Teachers to make clear that 1.) The Film is a political work and promotes only one side of the argument. 2.) If teachers present the Film without making this plain they may be in breach of section 406 of the Education Act 1996 and guilty of political indoctrination. 3.) Eleven inaccuracies have to be specifically drawn to the attention of school children. [Newsbusters]

Instead of informing children or these things why just not show the movie? It has been proven to be inaccurate and with the recent scandal of climategate. And to add to that only 18% of American people think global climate change is real.

Al Gore invented Global Climate Change just like he invented the internet.

Speak Softly and Carry a BIG stick

In the 1900's Theodore Roosevelt said, "speak softly and carry a big stick, you will go far."  And in 2010 Kenyetta Wilbourn does just that.  Wilbourn is Principle of one of Detroit's worst performing high schools and to protect herself she uses an aluminium baseball bat.  In 2007 Wilbourn started carrying the bat as an assistant principle when a violent fight broke out. Rather than rushing in head first, she grabbed the bat her 9-year-old son had left in her office and worked her way through a crowd that was beating a young man, who eventually died.

"There was chaos everywhere," Wilbourn told the WJR this morning.  "My first thought when responding to a 'code red' was to grab my bat. And I found while the bat didn't save the life, it saved me, and I've carried it ever since."

And while it may seem that a principle carrying a baseball bat is out of line, Wilborn maintains that she only  carries the bat for self-defense and as of yet no parents have complained.

And just to be clear Wilbourn does not carry the bat at all times only when she is patrolling halls and is outside on campus.

Although the schools academics are declining I would like to commend this lady for not worrying about political correctness.  She feels threatened and instead of someone explaining to her family that she was killed, she is taking steps herself to protect and defend not only herself but her students as well.

"What we try to provide for the students is what some of them may not have at home, and that's the feeling of belonging to a village and family," she said.

"If you intend to do anything that might disrupt the process, then you don't belong in the village, and there must be some place else your parent might want to take you, because you won't survive or last at Denby;" Wibourn.

Deutsch incorrectly labels IRS bomber a Republican

MSNBC's Donny Deutsch kicked off a week long segment this week, "America the Angry.". In the segment he hinted that certain people in this country could incite an Oklahoma City style attack.

He then goes on to mention Joe Stack, the moron that flew a plane into an IRS building. Here is the direct quote, "I don't know. Whether he was Republican or Democrat I am assuming he was probably a Republican."

Are you serious? This is wrong on so many levels the first being that you are a journalist. You don't assume anything especially on air in front of an audience. Second, who cares what party this guy belonged to. This guy was a straight up wacko. But let's play MSNBC's game let's assume this guy was a Republican and take a look at the facts.

1. Joe Stack in his manifesto argued against capitalism (Sounds like Democrat to me).
2. He hated Bush and ranted against the war in Iraq (Sounds like a democrat to me).
3. He quoted the Communist Manifesto (sounds like a Democrat to me).

Now when you actually look at the facts you can obviously tell he was a Democrat. But that is not the point. The point is MSNBC and it's counter parts are the ones inciting violence. Saying everything has racial undertones. The only good thing is MSNBC only has 3 viewers.

Mr. Clinton What Happened?

This week former President Clinton announced that Congress should be careful in what they say because of the rise in Right Wing Extremism.  Then Mr. Clinton went on to say  "it should not be forgotten what drove the Oklahoma bombers. They took to the ultimate extreme an idea advocated in the months and years before the bombing by an increasingly vocal minority: the belief that the greatest threat to American freedom is our government and that public servants do not protect our freedoms but abuse them."

So now you are linking the OC bombing to the Tea Partiers?  What are you trying to say Mr. Clinton?  Needless to say that today was very uneventful.  No bombings, no hate rallies, No one getting all crazy because of what Tim McVeigh, a Domestic Terrorist, decided to to that fateful day 15 years ago.

The Tea Partiers are not hateful, we do not want to destroy the Government, we do not want to blow up buildings, or kill people.

Mr. President I think you need to apologize for your remarks you should also apologize for your lousy presidency.

Are you Serious?

During the April 11, TPE in Clinton Township my Uncle Bob, Cousin Keith, Dad and I were interviewed by an independent blogger named Matt Lane.  He has his own blog (which can be found here) Politifeed and you can also become a fan of his Facebook page Politifeed Fan Page.

Now he interviewed us for a good 5-10 minutes, I will be fair and say that he did ask some good questions however, he claims to be unbiased, but as I am about to show you he is not.

Here is the video...
Clinton Township TPE

You can see us at the 1:15 mark and we got 10 seconds in this video.  And the only line that he used was from my Uncle Bob saying "no we are not upset, we are pissed."  Here is my question to Mr. Lane.  You claim to be an unbiased journalist but this video clearly shows you being biased.  You cut from the video what you Choose to show.  Show everything we said to you Mr. Lane.  We made good valid points and because they did not fit your point of view you decided to cut it out.

I told you from the beginning that I knew that you were a lib.  I watched you operate the whole time.  You want to be unbiased show the whole video.  I look at your Facebook fan page and all you talk about is liberal issues you do not have a fair and balanced point of view.

Don't come back either and say that I don't either, because I will tell you I don't.  I try to look at things from a liberal point of view but I can't stomach the nonsense.

I told you I would come to your site, I told you that you were a liberal.  You did an excellent editing job I just wish your blog followers knew how biased you really are.

Tax Day Tea Party

This Thursday Americans tired of big Government and more taxes took to the streets and protested.  The news media would like to portray us as racists and uneducated morons but we know the truth.  My family and I decided to go to Lansing and protest at the Capital.  We had a great time and the speakers we very informative and at times very entertaining.  Our last speaker was amazing.  Unfortunately I did not get his name or website and can not find it anywhere.  If someone knows the name of this speaker or has a way to find this information out I would really like to know.  I believe he is on AM radio in Flint Michigan.

Again the MSM was pathetic I read every article that I could find about the Tea Parties that took place all over the state and every single one just HAD to interview the one progressive that was there.  I know that we need to be fair and balanced but they point out on the tea party side the crazies.  They find the person with the most on unbelievable sign and interview them.  Like the Hitler LaRoache signs (just so you know MSM that is a democrat that makes those signs).  And then they don't even talk about the real issues.  We are not anti-taxes and anti-government.

The tea party protesters are anti-big government they believe that we are Taxed Enough Already not that we should not pay any taxes.  They are people from all races, and all political affiliations.  But the media will not portray us that way.  They will not tell you the real story, because stories based on facts don't make the news.  Stories based on a liberal bias do.

Andy Stern

Well I had a very long day and I was going to talk at length about Andy Stern stepping down from the head of the SEIU but it is late so I will just copy and paste the morning bell from the Heritage Foundation.

If you are not a fan of the Heritage Foundation I highly suggest it.  You can reach them here www.heritage.org they offer a morning bell newsletter to your mail box each morning they also have a blog called the Foundry.  They are a conservative site have a lot of great information.

Last night, Politico reported that Service Employees International Union President Andrew Stern is expected to resign and, according to The New York Times, the resignation is about to happen very soon. If Stern does resign, he will be doing so while at the top of his game. Stern told The Las Vegas Sun last year: "We spent a fortune to elect Barack Obama - $60.7 million to be exact - and we're proud of it." President Obama is well aware of his huge debt to the SEIU. That is why he admits in his autobiography, "I owe those unions." And it also explains why Stern is the most frequent Obama White House visitor, according to official visitor logs.

Stern's access to President Obama has already paid huge dividends including: an $862 billion stimulus that prevented states from having to cut-back government union jobs or wages$2.5 trillion in new government health care spending, much of which will go to unionizedhealth care providers; and the appointment of SEIU associate general counsel Craig Becker to the National Labor Relations Board. The NYT describes the SEIU under Stern's tenure as "the nation’s most politically active union, with 1.9 million members." The marriage of politics to union organizing has been great for SEIU membership, making it the fastest-growing union in America.

But what has been great for SEIU's membership rolls has not been good for the SEIU's bottom line. Growing union membership through politics is expensive. The Wall Street Journal reports that as recently as 2002, total SEIU liabilities were about $8 million. But by 2008, the union owed more than $156 million, a 30% increase over the $120 million it owed in 2007. And make no mistake, lobbying government is where Stern believes the future of SEIU is. After President Obama's election, SEIU fired 75 national field staff and organizers so that the SEIU could "reallocate resources ... to lobbying and communications in Washington."

In fact, taking a more critical look at SEIU's recent growth, The Washington Post reports: "some of its biggest gains in recent years were less the result of shoe-leather organizing and more the result of deals with major employers or politicians -- including former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich." Specifically,Blagojevich signed a state law handing over 49,000 state child care workers to SEIU local 880which is run by the notorious community organizing group ACORN.The deal nearly tripled SEIU 880’s income from $7 million in 2005 to $21 million in 2007. This came after SEIU’s Illinois Political Action Committee gave Gov. Blagojevich $908,000, making it the single largest campaign contributor for his re-election campaign.

It is no coincidence that under Stern's tenure the number of government union members surpassed the number of private sector union members for the first time in our nation's history. There are two reasons for this: 1) Unions kill private sector jobs, and unionized companies earn profits 15% lower than those of comparable non-union firms. This makes unionized firms less competitive, which is why unionized manufacturing jobs fell 75% between 1977 and 2008, while non-union manufacturing INCREASED 6% over that same time. 2) Government union jobs face no competition. Public sectorunionization has exploded in the past decade as leaders like Stern realized politics paid much better than the free market.Under Stern's leadership, SEIU has become the nation's second largest government union with over half of its membership drawing a paycheck on the taxpayers dime.

Explaining how organized labor really works, US Court of Appeals judge for the 7th Circuit Richard Posner recently wrote:
The goal of unions is to redistribute wealth from the owners and managers of firms, and from workers willing to work for very low wages, to the unionized workers and the union’s officers. … Unions, in other words, are worker cartels. … There is also a long history of union corruption. And some union activity is extortionate: the union and the employer tacitly agree that as long as the employer gives the workers a wage increase slightly above the union dues, the union will leave the employer alone.

Except that in Stern's America, union management no longer redistribute wealth from firms to union members. With the majority of union members now working for the governmentAndy Stern and his cohorts are extorting money from you, the taxpayer. And where is that money going? Not into shoring up union member pensions. Those are woefully underfunded. No, the Andy Sterns of the world turn around and use their taxpayer-funded government union dues to lobby for an even larger government that can pay for even more government union jobs. Andy Stern's America is a perpetual government dependency machine.

And don't think for a second that Stern's retirement means he is gone for good. Stern is still a proud member of President Obama's deficit commission. Complete reliance on government growth, crippling debt, and Blagojevich-style corruption. That is what Andy Stern did to the SEIU, and it is what Stern and President Obama will do to this country.

American Heritage and some news

I have been taking a class at Zion Christian Church for the last couple weeks.  Each week we watch a video from the American Heritage Series by David Barton and then hold a discussion afterwards.  This is a great class and an excellent video I recommend it to everyone.  It teaches you the actual history of the United States, you know our Christian Heritage.  The class is free and welcome to anyone.  It meets on Wednesday nights and there is 4 weeks left.  If you are interested let me know.

Also I have been reading the 5000 year leap: a miracle that changed the world.  Which again is another great find if you want to know how our Founding Fathers established the Constitution.

Obama signs a Nuclear Treaty with Russia last week to shrink the arsenals of the United States and Russia declaring that we will not use nukes for defense and if a Country should attack us with chemical/biological warfare.  And today we see this Nuclear risks have risen.  REALLY?  No freaking way!  Oh the irony.  Here's the deal the risk of terrorist attacks with nuclear weapons have risen.  Why?  Because you have given the green light to terrorists.  You have made it known that, one you are reducing the number of nuclear weapons in the Country.  Two, you have made it known that you are now not willing to use nuclear weapons in defense of an attack.  Three, you have basically shut down the "star wars" program.  GENIUS!
Hey Obama do you remember that oath you took when you came into office?  Just asking.

Here is another great story

Baffled by Healthcare

So Congress read the bill huh?  I don't think so.  Today it was announced that Congress who thought that they would be keeping the wonderful healthcare that they receive, might have accidentally given it away :(.
Is this the straw that breaks the camels back?  Is the law going to be repealed now?  Probably not, but I am sure that a lot of Congress men and women are re-thinking their excellent bill.

(you know its funny because its not like they were going to get to keep that great health insurance anyway, they are all gone in NOVEMBER).

Tomorrow: Andy Stern resigns?  Wonder what he's up too.  Maybe that Debt Commission he's on is taking up too much time.

TEA PARTY EXPRESS (TPE)

Sunday was the Clinton Twp. TPE.  Around 4000 people attended the event.  There wasn't much balanced news coverage the reports can be found here.

I have a sort of bias since I was featured in the Michigan Capital Confidential, however if you do not subscribe to this site you may want to check it out.  At the TPE I was asked by a Tom Gantert what do you think is the goal of the Tea Party?  What do you want to see happen?

So what is the goal of the Tea Party?  Do we want to see a third party emerge?

What I would like to see is a balance.  We are a nation with checks and balances and right now that is not what we have.  We need to get rid of the politicians that think they know what is best for the Country.  The politicians that think that they know what is best.  I do not think that we need to have a third party emerge at least not at this time.  What I would like to see is the Republican party get back to the principles of which they stand.  We need to take control of either the House or Senate, to have a balance in order to stop this madness.

We need people in the Senate and House that are representative of the people and not themselves.  We need to get people in Congress that actually read the Constitution, and abide by it.  We need less taxes, less Government, and more of our Liberties and freedoms.

Do I think Republicans are the answer?  Nope.  They are part of the problem.

So I ask what do you think?

A day in Detroit

Today was Opening Day for the Tigers and as usual, I did not have tickets but stood in line starting at 8 and managed to get some good seats.  This probably my favorite part of going downtown on opening day the anticipation of getting tickets and meeting some great hardcore Tigers fans.  Although I would like to say that I am very disappointed with the behavior I saw today.  For one, PICK UP YOUR TRASH people, how disgusting I have been going to Opening day since I have been 10 and never have I seen such disregard and laziness.  There are trash cans all around, utilize them.  Detroit already looks like a dump don't add to it with your beer cans and trash.  Second, some drunk, punk idiot kids drinking in the parking lot dented my car, how? by throwing something at it.  You are an adult act like one.  Your drinking should not cause you to act like an idiot, that is not an excuse.  You should not willingly damage other people's property because your a moron.  I get out of my car and hear this "who gives a shit, it's not my car," girl sees me "oh fuck." No apology, nothing.  Third, for the first time ever I witnessed people taking cuts to try and get tickets today.  Seriously?  People have no common sense or morality anymore.  The behavior I witnessed today made me sick.  Let's stop thinking the world revolves around ourselves and grow up and take responsibility.

However I would like to say that (besides the rant) I had a great time at the ball park.  Baseball is back.  The Tigers pulled it out and got the W.  Sad that it was accomplished with errors and the hitting is atrocious, but I think we have a chance to maybe clinch the division if we pick up a few hitters.  Any thoughts.

BTW, Stupak is retiring, who would of thought that?

10 points on Health care

  1. A Massively Engorged Government, to the tune of $2.5 trillion in new entitlement spending. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), new entitlement spending in the plan would cost $216 billion by 2019, then increase by 8 percent every year thereafter.
  2. A Cornhusker Kickback for All. No, special deals aren’t removed from Obamacare this time around. Instead, the House bill extends new federal funding for Medicaid to all states. Incidentally, you’re paying for it.
  3. A Freight train of taxes, slamming the American people in 2018. You’ve heard of the “Cadillac” tax on high-cost insurance plans? It will be pushed back to 2018, and given the way “high-cost” plans will be defined, a large segment of the middle class would get hit with the tax over time.
  4. Beware the shape-shifting tax monster. New taxes will take many forms, including taxes on prescription drugs, medical devices (like wheel chairs), and health insurance.
  5. Unconstitutional mandates, courtesy of Congress. Don’t want to buy health insurance? Congress will penalize you if you don’t, regardless of income.
  6. Lock your back door. Higher health care costs will be sneaking in. The plan gives subsidies to low-to-moderate wage families, but the subsidies will increase at a lower rate than the rate at which premiums increase. In other words, those families will pay more every year.
  7. Lights out for small businesses? Companies that hire certain low-income Americans will have to pay $3,000 per employee, per year, even if the company offers insurance.Oh, and if a company employs 50 or more workers, they’ll face higher tax penalties to the tune of $2,000 per full-time employee.
  8. Abortions. You will pay for them, like it or not. The House bill includes major funding for community health centers with no restrictions on federal taxpayer funding of abortions.
  9. Want to play the stock market? Maybe not, after you hear this. The House bill slaps a 3.8% tax on investment income.
  10. It’s not a federal system, after all. States will have less power. They’ll no longer have authority to regulate health care premiums. Instead, the federal government will take on the job. States and local governments won’t be able to control their own employee health plans; they’ll have to abide by new federal regulations.
Remember that health care is 1/6 of our economy and this 2000+ page bill could fundamentally change the United States forever.  What we should be doing is taking our time, listening to the people, and coming up with REAL solutions to health care reform.  Because lets face it, people need health care.  However, we shouldn't be trying to rush a bill that no one can understand to the Presidents desk.  I would also like to remind you that health reform is not going to take affect until 2014.  If we are in such a rush to give people care then the bill should take affect immediately.

The bill is full of kickbacks, and shady deals.  Here are a few:

*Nebraska’s Hospital Helper. Via Rowan Scarborough at the Washington Times:
The Obama administration has delivered another budget plum to Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson and the state of Nebraska, adding more than a half-billion dollars for a new veterans hospital in Omaha.
The move reverses a decision by Mr. Obama’s own Veterans Administration of a year ago, which called for repairing an existing hospital.
The Veterans Administration made the budget switch during internal deliberations in 2009 at a time when the White House was wooing the moderate Democrat to vote for President Obama’s health care overhaul bill.
Mr. Nelson was among the last of the Senate Democrats to sign on to the health bill, deciding to vote “yes” after securing special Medicaid payments for Nebraska in a deal known as the “Cornhusker Kickback.” Health care reform opponents have widely panned that deal.
At the time that deal was being made, Mr. Nelson was getting another boost from the VA as it formulated its next budget.
Jake Thompson, a spokesman for Mr. Nelson, rejected the idea the new hospital was awarded in exchange for the senator’s health care vote.
Deny, deny, deny.
*Tennessee’s Hospital Helper. Via the Tennessean:
Bye bye, Cornhusker Kickback. Hello, special treatment for Tennessee and North Dakota.
Democrats unveiling revisions Thursday to their health-care overhaul bill decided to kill the extra $100 million in Medicaid funds for Nebraska that has become a symbol of backdoor deal making. But the 153 pages of changes to the package include an additional $99 million in 2012 and 2013 for Tennessee hospitals that treat many poor people.
Retiring Rep. Bart Gordon, D-Tenn., has fought for the funds for years to bring the state’s aid up to par with the rest of the country, spokeswoman Emily Phelps said. She said their inclusion had nothing to do with his announcement Thursday that he will vote for the final health legislation after opposing an earlier version in November.
Deny, deny, deny.
Tom Bevan notes the irony of Gordon’s little deal and a NASA slot rumor.
*North Dakota’s Student Loan Loophole. With a sick stomach, Scott Johnson at Power Line reports:
Although the package nationalizes the student loan system, one bank — the state-owned Bank of North Dakota — would be allowed to continue making student loans. Such a deal for North Dakota’s Democratic congressional delegation facing massive opposition to Obamacare back home.
North Dakota Senator Byron Dorgan has already announced his retirement rather than try to defend Obamacare to his constituents. Kent Conrad — North Dakota’s other Democratic senator — is employing the full Nelson, declining the bribe. Referring to “an overly heated partisan environment,” he asked the House to remove the buyoff from the legislation.
We await word from Rep. Earl Pomeroy, the state’s lone member of the House. Before the package was announced, Pomeroy was an enthusiastic advocate of the buyoff. “We want what’s taking place in North Dakota protected,” Pomeroy said. It is not clear whether Pomeroy shares Conrad’s second thoughts
And Congress will now expressly fund racial discrimination in higher education:

The new package also promises new aid for colleges serving minority students, using money the government is supposed to save by no longer paying banks to make student loans. Included are annual payments of $100 million for schools with large numbers of Hispanic students, the same amount for colleges with many black students, and millions more for schools with large numbers of native Americans and other minorities.
Newspapers running stories on these deals such as the Washington Post’s “Cornhusker Kickback gets the boot in health bill” really ought to provide nausea warnings and motion sickness bags.
*The La Raza Lollilop. Open-borders congressional reps made a show of protesting the phony immigration enforcement provisions in Demcare. But purported opponents of the bill led by Illinois Democrat Rep. Luis Guiterrez are falling in line. Just as the congressional Hispanic Caucus announced it support of Demcare, Obama announced his vow of support for their new shamnesty push.
All they needed was a cheap and easy promise from Obama. Chumps.
*Water Wheeling & DealingIBD editorializes today:
On Tuesday, the Department of the Interior announced it was increasing water allocations for the Central Valley of California, a region that depends on these water allocations for local agriculture and jobs. The timing adds to our suspicions.
According to the Interior announcement, “Typically (the Bureau of) Reclamation would release the March allocation update around March 22nd, but moved up the announcement at the urging of Senators (Diane) Feinstein and (Barbara) Boxer, and Congressmen (Jim) Costa and (Dennis) Cardoza.”
Blue Dog Democrats Costa, who represents California’s 20th Congressional District (Fresno), and Cardoza, who represents the 18th (Stockton to Modesto), are both listed as “undecided” in the upcoming vote on health care reform, whether it be on the Senate bill itself or the “deem and pass” resolution known as the Slaughter rule, after Rules Committee Chairman Louise Slaughter.
The rule subverts the Constitution by allowing the bill to pass without members actually having to vote on it. Interior’s announcement gives Costa and Cardoza something to assuage the wrath of angry constituents just in time for any vote. They chose what was behind door number one.
This isn’t the first time. To get them out of the “undecided” column in last December’s House vote, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic leadership promised $500 million for a new University of California-Merced Medical School. Costa and Cardoza then voted “aye.”
